“J’aime beaucoup les choses portées à leur extrême limite possible.” (Jean Dubuffet)
This solo and retrospective exhibition of Jean Dubuffet -the first in Catalonia to show the artist's work in both a private space as well as in a public institution, and the first also in Spain to be held in a private gallery in the last 40 years- offers a complete and extensive journey through his transcendental artistic career. The itinerary begins with works dating from 1944 and ends with a painting dated in 1984, thus covering a wide and representative range of the varied artistic creations that Jean Dubuffet produced in the course of four decades. This exhibition’s project has been built with the selection of more than thirty works, including paintings and drawings, pertaining to some of his most popular series, such as Portraits, Assemblage Empreintes, Matériologies, TexturologiesThe HourloupeParachiffre, PartitionsPsycho-sites and Non-lieux.
To commemorate the 30th anniversary of the death of the artist, the exhibition will end on May 12, when Dubuffet died in Paris in 1985.
