L’Amic de les Arts. Art and poetry in Sitges, 1926-1929

The exhibition “L’Amic de les Arts” presents works by Dalí, Miró, Torres García and García LorcaThe Sitges Museums, part of the Local Museums Network, host until March 16, 2025 the exhibition on the legendary magazine “L’Amic de les Arts. Art and Poetry in Sitges 1926-1929”, which was a national reference of arts and thought of the time. Edited in Sitges between 1926 and 1929 by Josep Carbonell i Gener, it is considered one of the main cultural magazines that existed in Catalonia.The exhibition “L’Amic de les Arts. Art and poetry in Sitges 1926-29)” presents a hundred pieces, including paintings, sculptures, drawings, manuscripts, correspondence, books and the same publication that is the focus of the exhibition. Highlights include pieces by Salvador Dalí, Josep Maria de Togores, Joaquim Torres García, Pau Gargallo or Federico García Lorca, among many others. It is curated by Aitor Quiney, PhD in Art History, and can be seen in the Sala Vaixells of the Palau de Maricel, recently restored by the Sitges Museums as an exhibition space.
