Coinciding with the fact that this year marks the 25th anniversary of Lluís Lleó’s establishment in New York, the Marc Domènech Gallery has decided to organize “Flyer”, an exhibition that presents a set of 40 works, including oil paintings and papers, made between 2013. 2014. This exhibition offers a broad overview of the artist’s recent creative career, which is characterized by combining geometric, angular and intimidating shapes with seductive nebulae, thus generating a poetic contrast between two seemingly distant entities. Both his delicate and suggestive papers and his elegant and refined fabrics now show a marked interest in a pure and penetrating synthesis.

As Pilar Parcerisas expresses in the text “The light thins and the darkness widens”: In recent years, Lluís Lleó’s work has become more spiritual, reflective and synthetic, luminous and nocturnal, orientalizing, without losing its baggage. . western classic and has introduced a new color chart, more radical and pure as well, such as green (…), purple, cobalt violet, or blue, the latter in homage to another painter and sculptor touched by the Zen philosophy: Pablo Palazuelo, who found spirituality through geometry, as a measure of beauty in space and time.
