Enric Planasdurà. Works 1949-1974
Download catalogThe exhibition offers more than 50 works that give an exhaustive survey of the artist’s work produced in the 50s, 60s and 70s.
Once he finished his studies at the Martínez Altés academy, Planasdurà explored various styles. He went from the most conventional figuration to Surrealism and from there on to geometric abstraction which he would not abandon from then on – except for a short period in the 1960s in which he was seduced by informalist painting. The show, which starts with a canvas painted in 1949, clearly illustrates to the spectator Planasdurà’s devotion for geometric abstraction and defends his position as one the pioneers of geometric painting in Catalonia and in Spain.
