Biography

Vilanova i la Geltrú, 1991

Sara Bonache lives and works in Barcelona. She graduated in Fine Arts from the University of Barcelona. Her artistic work encompasses disciplines such as drawing, painting and textiles, with a particular focus on pastel techniques. Interested in the tactility and plasticity that this material invites to explore, her work delves into the relationship between the body and nature, dissolving the boundary between both iconographies and seeking new forms through metamorphosis and metaphor as a means to deepen our relationship with nature, our bodies and their life cycles.
She has exhibited her work individually in Fertile Landscapes (MXM Gallery, Madrid, 2023) and Showroom (Bombon Projects, Barcelona, 2022).
Collectively, her work has been shown in venues such as The Trophy Room (Los Angeles), FIR Gallery (Beijing), Kabinett Gallery (South Korea), Museum of Design (Barcelona), SENS Gallery (Hong Kong), CAC La Sala (Vilanova i la Geltrú, Barcelona), Hew Hood Gallery (London), Rodzlo Gallery (Berlin), LAB 36 (Barcelona) and the Carmen Thyssen Museum in Málaga, among others.
She has participated in national and international fairs such as BYI (Barcelona, 2024), Future Fair (New York, 2024), Art Miami (2024), Art021 (Shanghai, 2023), Art Busan (2023), Art Central (Hong Kong, 2023), UVNT (Madrid, 2023), Art and Breakfast Fair (Málaga, 2017) and Arts Libris Barcelona (2021).
Over the years, she has been a finalist in several awards, including Arts FAD (2021), Francesc Gimeno Painting Prize (2021), Fundació Vila Casas Painting Prize (2022) and International Painting Prize “Novembre à Vitry” (2022), as well as winning the Biennial of Plastic and Visual Arts of Garraf and Alt Penedès (2017) and the Fundació Vila Casas Painting Prize (2025).
