Biography

Moinesti (Romania), 1910 – Barcelona, 2008

Pic Adrian was born in Moinesti (Romania) on September 3, 1910, but his family moved to Bucharest in 1915, where he studied law. Threatened first by Nazism and then by communism, he settled in Israel in 1951, after a period in Paris, where he met Alice Rubinstein, his future wife. In 1953, he returned to France where he met relevant personalities of the artistic and cultural world of the moment: Brancusi, Marc Chagall, Fernand Léger or Jean Arp.

His first solo exhibition was held at the Syra Gallery in Barcelona in 1962. At this time Pic Adrian also founded the Tendencias Esencialistas group and exhibited in Barcelona in 1967 and in Madrid in 1969. Throughout the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s publishes several books on art theory and exhibits internationally in France, Italy, Germany, Switzerland and Norway.

His work is part of numerous private and public collections.
