Miquel Barceló is a painter and sculptor from Majorca. In 1986, he was awarded the Premio Nacional de Artes Plásticas and in 2003 he received the Premio Príncipe de Asturias de las Artes. His works, clearly influenced by nature, characterise themselves for the use of texture and thick colour impastoes, as well as for their expressivity.
